A brother at work sent the following hadith. I haven't come across this before. It shows the importance of making dua all the time, through good times and bad.
"If a man is given to supplicating in times of ease and is then faced with hardships, and supplicates to Allaah, Mighty and Magnificent, the Angels say, “This is a familiar voice …” and intercede for him. If he is not given to supplicating in times of ease and is then faced with a hardship and supplicates to Allaah, Mighty and Magnificent, the Angels will say, “This is an unfamiliar voice…” and they will not intercede for him." - Salman al Farisi [The Legacy of the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), p. 65 of Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali]
At present facing some uncertain times regarding my employment. Things are not so good and I would like to request those who read this to make dua for me.
The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence will certainly be answered. Everytime he makes a supplication for good for his brother, the angel appointed for this particular task says: `Ameen! May it be for you, too’.” [Muslim].
For those facing work worries remember that your provision (rizq) is from Allah subhana wa ta'ala. So turn to him for it.
May Allah make it easy for all those who face tough times due to the downturn in the economy or for any other reason. May he recognise you as a familiar voice! Ameen.
"O you who believe, partake of the good things We have provided for you as sustenance (rizq) and give thanks to Allah, if it is truly Him that you worship" (2:172)
"No creature is there crawling on the earth, but its provision rests on God. He knows its lodging place and its repository" (11:16)
