Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh!
Yes, yes, it has been a long time and maybe this will end up being another lonely posting for 2012. At least now I have one reader who has been often spoken of in the many blog entries. That reader is my beautiful wife who has started reading the blog through her iPhone. Prior to this she was practically a Luddite and did not like using the computer for other then shopping.
For years I've been trying to encourage her to use the technology, I mean my profession is in computing after all. She didn't take to it as I had hoped. She only used the laptop for shopping. Then I bought her an iPhone 4 and wow what a difference a device makes.
As someome who has spent a good few years developing for various mobile devices - I am not that keen on the iOS restrictions. However I will admit it is very usable. For my wife it is ideal. Apple have certainly thought of all the little things and did them well. The features that are not available is because they are not happy to release them to the general public. We all know how powerful it can be, just see what people have done with a jailbroken phone.
So as you can imagine things have progressed in my household and finally my wife is reading my blog entries, which go back to 2006!
Now she is using Social Media, apps of all kinds, shopping via her iPhone and will not stop playing with it. Best thing I bought for her in ages for one simple reason - she is now accessing all the Islamic material available to her via technology.
Hmmm, now to go through all the blogs and see if I have said any nasty things about her before she gets to them!
